Carlos Iñiguez is a Professor in informatics at Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Ecuador. He receives his Ph.D. from Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) in 2019 where he was a member of the Genomic Group at PROS Research Centre. He holds a Master Degree on Web Engineering (2013) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), a Master Degree on Digital Design (2020) from Universidad de la Rioja (Spain), and a University Degree in System Engineering and Computation (2005) from Universidad Politécnia Nacional (Ecuador). Additionally, he has carried out music studies at Conservatorio Nacional de Música (Ecuador) in violin interpretation. He has many years of professional experience, having worked in several private and public companies from Ecuador. He is currently involved on the design of web-based user interfaces, Development mthodologies and software development.

Carlos is an IT professional with more than 17 years of experience in software development, project management, and technological innovation.

  • Since 2014, he had worked as a Full-Time Assistant Professor at Escuela Politécnica Nacional del Ecuador, where he contributes to the training of future systems engineers and actively participate in academic committees aimed at curricular updating, graduate monitoring, and international accreditation.
In the business field, he has led strategic technological projects in several institutions.
  • 2014 - At SUPERCOM, he coordinated and advised the systems implementation at Department of Development and Management of Platforms.
  • 2013 - As Software Development Leader at the Bupartech - BitAhead Consortium, he participated in the Central Bank's Payment System reengineering, an essential project for the ecuadorian financial system.
  • (2006–2012) - His experience at the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador is highlighted by the coordination of innovative projects, such as the e-REGItur, the GEOPORTAL of Tourist Cadastre and a mobile application for updating tourist establishments. He also led the implementation of SIPLANEO operational planning system and developed the corporate intranet and technical support systems, improving institutional operational efficiency. In addition, he coordinated the implementation of business intelligence platforms and document management.
Throughout his career, he has combined technical and leadership skills to drive technological innovation, optimize institutional processes and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in high-impact projects.
